Professor Jorge Zornberg provided the opening talk for the IGS 40th Birthday Week Lectures. His presentation ‘The power behind learning geosynthetics’ focused on the importance of developing the range and accessibility of geosynthetics education.
Multi-award-winning Prof. Zornberg has more than 35 years’ experience in practice and research in geotechnical and geosynthetics engineering. The former IGS President has authored more than 500 technical publications, written several book chapters, and been awarded three patents. The IGS also recently established the Zornberg Lecture, an honorary lecture recognizing his considerable contributions to geosynthetics.
