Testing and evaluation of Geosynthetics is a key issue which can ensure successful performance. While majority of the physical and mechanical properties can be obtained through current test standards, further research provides a tool for imrovement over existing practices and also devise new methods where none exist. In this context, information is included in this paper on valuable information one can obtain by pore size distribution determination. The general and tensile behaviour of natural fibre geotextiles is also delineated, that should pave the way for their standardization.
